Fisherman's Restaurant - San Clemente's Best Catch
Story by Brad W. Wright

Well, it is no surprise that the Fisherman's Restaurant and Paul Gavin teamed up to sponsor our San Clemente insert featuring the Casa Romantica.

Paul's 1989 painting featured on the cover, titled Vista Romantica, captures the beauty of the Pacific Coast with Fisherman's nestled in between the ocean's shoreline and the horizon's palm trees.

Fisherman's Restaurant, under the guidance of Bob Novello, continuously sponsors city, chamber and Downtown Business Association events since its' inception in 1983.

The most notable is the San Clemente Ocean Festival, which Fisherman's continues to be the presenting sponsor each year, providing cash and in-kind donations of several thousand dollars. In addition, Fisherman's offers its venue of exclusivity for the sale of the Ocean Festival T-shirts, which is the largest fundraising leg of the event, allowing the Festival Board of Directors to provide hundreds of thousands of dollars of scholarship donations to local students and organizations.

The Pier Bowl area has improved immensely over the years, and Fisherman's has lead the way with the renovation of the snack bar (Crab Pot) and the expansion of the decking to accommodate the growing demand for more seating as our community population continues to spurt with new development.

General Manager Bob Novello was an instrumental part in the development and he encouraged "South Coast," as well as other publications, to support the Casa Romantica "Toast to the Casa," the fundraiser that included formal dining, entertainment and a little wine.

It's nice to have our public access back and to have Casa Romantica as a venue for all to enjoy. Thank you Fisherman's for your involvement and support.
