Simic Galleries
"The Dynamic Duo" taking the Fine Art Industry into the 21st Century
Simic Galleries
Inc., an outstanding group of fine art galleries, is the result
of the hopes, dreams and aspirations of artist/entrepreneur, Mario
B. Simic. Arriving in America in 1970 from Paris, France, he embraced
his new found home and the freedom it afforded him to make his
dreams a reality. As an artist living in Carmel, he was inspired
by the magnificent California coastline and soon opened, what
was to be, the first of several Simic Galleries. Simic's personal
passion for painting and for collecting works of art drew many
international and American artists to his gallery, seeking a successful
venue in which to showcase their work. The quality of the artwork
exhibited attracted fine art collectors from around the world,
including dignitaries and public figures. Within a short time,
there were three Simic Galleries catering to the fine art needs
of art appreciators from all walks of life.
Today, in
their 26th year, Simic Galleries are located in the cities of
Carmel, Monterey, La Jolla, and Palm Desert, California, and Scottsdale,
Arizona. A serendipitous meeting 20 years ago with art dealer
Rami Ron resulted in a lasting friendship and partnership. Mr.
Ron, the company's current CEO/President, arrived in the United
States in 1978 from Israel as a tourist, and decided to make the
United States his home. He had worked his way up from a framing
shop in Chicago to become co-publisher of some of the most important
American artists, including Frederick Hart, Leroy Neiman and Felix
DeWeldon. His sterling reputation gained him positions with some
of the most respected art dealers in the art world, including
Merrill Chase of the Chase Galleries and Ron Parker of Dyansen
Galleries. Having been a fine art dealer for over a quarter of
a century, Rami Ron's wide knowledge ranges from Rembrandt to
present day art, thus making him the perfect business match for
visionary Mario Simic. Says Ron, "Collectors take advantage of
my expertise, knowledge and contacts, as well as my extensive
research of the available works of art. Often a collection is
acquired with an eye to the future for re-sale and bequests, as
well as museum or other charitable donations."
Although Simic
Galleries has historically represented traditional artists, they
have begun to expand their horizons with the more modern renderings
of Raffi Bo, Bursac, Rale and Natan.
Recently while
in Israel, the Dynamic Duo of Simic and Ron, secured the world
wide exclusivity (outside the United Kingdom) for the brilliant
young artist Natan, known creatively as "The Prince of Pop Art."
Natan is an extremely talented artist, having won the Israeli
equivalent of the "Emmy" for television costume design, and also
the "Ophir," the Israeli "Oscar" for best costume design in film.
The unique style and technique of this artist promises to advance
Simic Galleries on their mission to change the world map of art
history.
Over the years,
celebrity artists have enjoyed exhibiting their paintings in Simic
Galleries, with much success. Tony Bennett, and Jack Palance were
among the exciting celebrity guest artists, and Jane Seymour is
continuing to have very successful One Woman Shows in each geographic
area where Simic Galleries host Seymour Annual Exhibits.
It is, however,
not only the special guests and exceptional fine artists that
have made Simic Galleries a respected name in fine art, but also
the many Simic art consultants who have devoted more than a decade
of their lives to serving the art needs of the ever growing family
of Simic fine art collectors.

These very
special Simic fine art consultants have a wealth of knowledge
to impart to everyone who walks into a Simic Gallery. This knowledge,
coupled with excellent service, fosters lasting relationships
between the collectors and the consultants. Their dedication to
helping the art buyer find a painting or sculpture that they love,
takes them far beyond the expected call of duty. It is not unusual
to find consultants driving to the neighboring states with several
paintings requested by a collector to be shown in the privacy
of their own home or office, or to forfeit days off to happily
accommodate the schedule of the art collector. The final element
that has helped to build the stellar reputation of Simic Galleries
is the extensive high quality inventory of a wide range of art
styles, from traditional to contemporary, exhibiting works by
both living artists and deceased Masters. Presently, there are
more than 2900 original artworks on line at www.simic.com.
It is a tribute to the excellence and integrity of Simic Galleries
that many of their artists have consistently exhibited their work.
The first painting to be purchased from Simic Galleries 26 years
ago was by west coast artist David Dalton, known for his detailed
California landscapes and inspirational seascapes. Another well
collected artist, Polish born Yanush, has been part of Simic Galleries
for over 15 years. His beautiful impressionist paintings of the
Monet Gardens at Giverny, scenes of Venice, Portofino, Lake Como
and Sorrento have brought joy into the hearts and homes of many
fine art collectors. The intricate floral paintings of Hungarian
born artist Gyula Siska, so reminiscent of the 17th and 18th century
Masters, have delighted collectors throughout Europe, France and
America for over 30 years. The mesmerizing still life paintings
of American artist Stanley Maxwell Brice takes "Trompe l'oeil"
beyond its boundaries. Simic Masters fine art publishing company
not only has excellent quality limited edition giclees of the
works of Brice available for acquisition, but also for the first
time, a beautiful collection of giclees by Mario B. Simic himself.
Additional artists will soon be included in the publishing program.

The romantic,
ethereal florals and Venetian scenes of artist Henze Morro, considered
to be one of the world's greatest colorists, have been exhibited
in Simic Galleries for a number of years.
Although it
is uncommon in today's art world for an artist to be exclusive
to one gallery, most Simic artists have given Simic Galleries
geographical exclusivity. Two Yugoslavian born artists, Milan
Miletic and Stojan Milanov, are exclusive to Simic Galleries.
Milanov is highly influenced by the collectible deceased Master
Edouard Cortes, as well as being quite versatile in style and
subject, also a trait of the famous Edouard Cortes.
Miletic, as
well, shows versatility in technique and subject. He paints Parisian
street scenes with a light, quick brush stroke that stirs memories
of the late Master artist, Antoine Blanchard.
Within recent
years, several important Spanish artists have been represented
by Simic Galleries, four of whom are Ramon Pujol, Javier Mulio,
Roman Frances and Gisbert.
These artists
have been so well received that the paintings are usually acquired
soon after they arrive in the galleries. Whether it is the translucence
of the water in the goblet of the photo realistic work of Javier,
the charming Spanish villages of Gisbert, the clear crisp sunlit
hues of Pujol, or the sensitive female figures of Frances, fine
art collectors have been eager to add these artists to their collections
Talent is often genetic, and Simic Galleries have been home for
several great artists and their descendants. One such family is
that of Camille Pissarro, one of the founding fathers of Impressionism.
Simic Galleries is honored to have available for acquisition the
artworks of Camille's son, Paul Emile Pissarro, his grandson H.
Claude Pissarro, and great granddaughter Lelia Pissarro. Other
well known artist families exhibiting in Simic Galleries are:
Pierre Auguste Renoir and his great-grandson Pierre, Antonio Cortes
and his son Edouard, Alexander Dzigurski and his son Alexander
ll, James Fetherolf and his son Mark, Gerhard Neswadba and his
son Christian and Henze Morro and his son Christian.
Offering two
centuries of fine art, Simic Galleries has earned a solid reputation
for exhibiting Masterworks by artists who are not only listed
in the prestigious Benezit Dictionary of Artists, but who also
have their paintings in permanent collections in art museums world
wide. Some of these artists shown in Simic Galleries and sought
after by knowledgeable art collectors are Renoir, Cortes, Loir,
Laloue, Luce, Troyon, Veyrassat, Dupre, Fetherolf, and Garin,
just to name a few.

Simic Galleries,
in conjunction with the Renoir Foundation for the Arts, sponsored
an historic Cortes exhibit at the Provincial Museum of Art in
Edmonton, Alberta, in the summer of 2001. Over 85,000 people visited
this very important exhibit to view more than 156 Edouard Cortes
paintings, and original works by his father Antonio Cortes, (a
19th century court painter to the King of Spain). Also exhibited
were important paintings by Pierre Auguste Renoir, Valtat, Ponchon,
Luce, Lebasque and Montezin, plus many other celebrated Impressionists
and Post Impressionists, all part of the Simic Galleries Masters
collection.
Preparing
for the next history making exhibition, the "Dynamic Duo" has
accepted an invitation from the curator of the prestigious Hermitage
Museum in St. Petersburg to partner in a very special Maritime
Exhibit slated sometime in the near future.
Mario Simic
and Rami Ron, both men of integrity and limitless energy, have
helped to build countless private collections, leading Simic Galleries
to the forefront of the art market and on into the 21st century.
